2006—Third recurrence diagnosed
Being experienced with two previous recurrences that had been treated without any problems I felt confident that the third recurrence would merely be another short detour in my life’s journey. At the time I really thought it would be as simple to treat as my second recurrence was.
Little did I know that the Rituximab regimen would fail to get the cancer into remission this time and trigger a whole new series of events in a fight to save my life. It turned out to be a very lengthy detour that was totally different from anything that I had ever experienced before.
It ended up being a series of plans that would ultimately get the cancer into remission, but it took much longer than I had ever dreamed it would take. I have provided the details about each plan under “Relapse #3.”
